JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — A planned OVI checkpoint in Montgomery County helped deter drunk drivers.
The checkpoint was held Friday from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at State Route 4 and Farmersville-West Carrollton Road.
According to officials, 391 cars passed through the checkpoint, five were issued citations for driving under suspension, one was issued a marked lanes citation, and one was arrested on misdemeanor drug charges. Saturation patrol nearby resulted in one citation for speeding, one citation for driving under suspension, and three seat belt violations.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and member agencies of the Montgomery County Combined Agency OVI Task Force will have additional patrols on the roads throughout the July 4th holiday weekend.
