OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — The finalist to be Miami University’s next president is set to visit the school’s Ohio campus before officials vote on his appointment.
The university says Gregory Crawford was named a finalist following a nine-month search. He’s currently a vice president and associate provost at the University of Notre Dame.
The Ohio native also is a physics professor. He has published more than 400 research and education publications, review articles and book chapters.
He tells the Hamilton-Middletown Journal-News that he’s ecstatic to be nominated for the position.
The university’s board of trustees is expected to vote on Crawford’s appointment Friday. If confirmed, he would be the university’s 22nd president.
David Hodge announced last year that he would retire from the role on June 30.READ MORE: President of Miami University to retire
