Marshals: Two rape suspects arrest in two days

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – U.S. Marshals say they arrested two rape suspects in two days in Dayton and Springfield.

The U.S. Marshal’s Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) arrested Edgar Barrientos, 66 Tuesday. Barrientos was wanted in Clark County for several counts of rape and gross sexual imposition.

US Marshals SOFAST, along with Springfield Police officers arrested Barrientos on a Greyhound Bus in Trotwood, OH. Investigators believe that Barrientos fled the state when the warrant was issued.

Barrientos was transported to the Clark County Jail.

Marshals say less than 48 hours later they arrested another rape suspect. On August 25 they arrested Kendrick Robinson, 24 in Dayton.  Robinson was wanted by the Dayton Police Department for rape, aggravated assault and kidnapping. Those charges stem from an incident that occurred earlier in August.

Through an investigation, SOFAST learned Robinson was staying at an address on Burkhardt Avenue in Dayton. SOFAST went to the residence and located Robinson hiding inside. Robinson was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
