Man shot in the buttocks, his dad gets supplies to remove bullet at Wal-Mart

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A man leaving work at a construction site is shot in the left buttock while walking across the street to go to a Shell gas station.

The victim said it happened around 7 p.m. Thursday near the area of Le June Drive and West Siebenthaler Avenue in Dayton.

He said he heard two gunshots and then felt pain in his rear. When he went to touch the site, he noticed blood coming from the wound, according to a Dayton police report.

The victim called his father and went to his father’s house in Xenia — as his father said that he’d pull the bullet out himself. The victim’s father and the father’s girlfriend drove to Wal-Mart to get supplies, but then later decided it may be best for the victim to go to the hospital.

The victim said “the prolonged timeline of getting to the hospital was due to the fact that he’d never been shot before and did not know what to do,” according to the report.

There are no suspects.
