DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Lucky’s Taproom is temporarily closing its doors after a health complaint sparks an investigation.

Lucky’s, located at 520 East 5th Street in Dayton.

A food-borne illness was reported to the Montgomery County Health Department on Monday and the investigation began that same day; with the restaurant’s doors also closing that day.

It’s unclear exactly when the complainant ate there.

While the investigation continues, the restaurant reported to the county health department that it is taking steps to “deep clean” and “sanitation” its restaurant.

Meantime, the health department has taken biological samples from customers to be tested in an Ohio Health Department lab in Columbus.

The health department is still asking for customers to contact them if they become ill.

The restaurant was last inspected November 30, 2015 – where no violations were reportedly found at that time.

The owner, Drew Trick, tells health officials that he plans to re-open the restaurant this weekend. Health officials say Trick has fully cooperated with the health department and its investigation.
