Woman shot during Miami Twp. murder-suicide now in ‘serious’ condition

MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – Hospital officials say that the woman shot during a murder-suicide in Miami Township that left two people dead, including a 6-year-old boy, is improving.

Di’Eshia Patterson, the shooter’s girlfriend, was admitted to Kettering Medical Center in “critical condition” after the incident on February 1.

Officials confirmed with 2 NEWS that she has since been upgraded to “serious condition.”

33-year-old Jovonie L. McClendon called 911 around 11:30 a.m. and told dispatchers he had shot Patterson and her son. He then proceeded to shoot himself in a live video on Facebook, which has since been taken down.

Patterson’s 6-year-old son, Carter L. Clemons, was also killed.
