Riverside Police confirm to 2 NEWS a 46-year-old woman died in a car crash Tuesday. The Montgomery County Coroner has identified the victim as Alpha Adams of Dayton.
The Riverside Police confirm to 2 NEWS there was a head-on fatal crash on Woodman Drive Tuesday.
Officials said three other people were taken to the hospital.
Sergeant Dave Craigler of the Riverside Police Department said witnesses said Adams was driving erratically. “She sideswiped a school bus, hit another vehicle and continued driving. When the vehicle got closer to Airway Road she went left of center struck and another vehicle head on,” Craigler said.
While Craigler said the 46-year-old victim was driving aggressively, it is unclear if alcohol or drugs are to blame.
“At this time, we have no indication of that. It appears as though she was not wearing her safety belt,” he said.
Jennifer Jimenez works down the street from the crash site. She said she heard the same comments from people coming into her restaurant.
“The customers were telling us that people had been calling about a lady coming from Huber Heights weaving in and out of traffic and speeding,” she said.
Jiminez is not surprised by the outcome of this crash. She said accidents and aggressive driving is common in the area. Even so, she said it is unfortunate this crash ended in a death.
“My condolences go out to their families but people drive crazy the all the time,” Jimenez said.
The Riverside Police Department issued a traffic alert on its Facebook page around 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Police say Harshman Road is back open after being closed for several hours.
