TIPP CITY, Ohio(WDTN)- Living Simply Soap in Tipp City has come a long way. Back in February, an overnight fire forced it to close. On Friday, Tanya Brown was dusting off the steps of her new pop-up shop preparing for a grand opening Saturday.
The temporary location sits at the corner of Second Street and Main Street. Before Brown moved her shop in, the building sat vacant.
“People are very surprised to see the door open. They’re very surprised to see an open sign out front,” Brown said.
In just 62 days, Brown and her team were able to re-produce most of the items. Staff who would usually be helping customer were all shifted over the manufacturing side.
“All of our liquid soaps, lotions, creams, sprays, we have been able to manufacture 100 percent,” Brown said.
Living Simply Soap plans to hold a grand opening on Saturday to celebrate. The event is happening from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.. Regular shop hours will then run Monday through Friday.
“We’re going to have some giveaways and for anybody that visits and purchases, we’re going to be entering them for a $100 giftcard giveaway,” Brown said.
Construction is still ongoing at the former shop. Steady progress is being made but it will be at least another five months until the original location can be re-opened. There are still structural and cosmetic issues to work through.
“We had the brick cleaned. I was so happy that it turned out as nice as it has. That was a very uplifting moment,” Brown said.
With the motto, ‘We are makers. We are builders. We are back’, Brown is happy to be here now.
“We always knew in our hearts that we would be back and this is just a celebration of that hopefulness,” Brown said.
