Local News

Surveillance video shows the moment two suspects with masks walked into a cell phone store with guns.

The armed robbery happened at the Verizon Store on Miller Lane in Bulter Township April 17.

Officials say one of the suspects fired a single gunshot in the store.

2 NEWS just obtained a copy of the surveillance video of the armed robbery.

Video shows two masked men walk into the store. One man points a gun at the store clerk as he makes his way behind the register. Two customers can be seen on the video. After being frozen in their seats, they start to make their way to the ground. The surveillance footage shows the armed gunman eventually forcing the clerk to ground with a gun on his back. That suspect then takes the customers purse before running out of the store. The thieves got away with $200 worth of property.

An eye-witness at the time told 2 NEWS he saw a man holding a gun run from the store, jump into a car and drive away.

The getaway vehicle has been found by police but the men have not been apprehended.

The robbery comes after four other cell phone store robberies were reported at stores in Troy, Dayton, Englewood and Xenia.
