WATCH: Dayton home explosion caught on camera

Local News

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Newly-released surveillance video captured the moment a home exploded in Dayton.

The footage comes from Ruskin Elementary, which is not too far from the home on George Street that blew up early Thursday morning.

Dayton fire crews say gas was turned off to the home earlier in the week and are still trying to determine an official cause of the explosion.

Initially, a 911 caller said a man was trying to light a gas pilot light when it exploded.

The home had to be torn down and the incident is still under investigation.
