Victim in Germantown St. shooting identified, suspect in custody

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Gunfire erupted inside a Dayton apartment early Friday, leaving one man dead and another wounded.

Police responded to a 911 call about the shooting on Germantown Street, near Lola Avenue, just after 12:30 a.m. Friday.

When officers arrived, they found two men shot.

One of those victims died at the scene. He has been identified as 35-year-old Brandon L. Cunningham, of Dayton.

Medics took the other man to an area hospital where he is listed as stable.

Homicide investigators arrested a person of interest in the crime and he has been booked into the Montgomery County Jail on preliminary charges of murder, tampering with evidence, and having weapons while under disability.

The man is due in court on Jan. 14.
