SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) — The driver killed in a fiery crash on I-70 in Clark County has been identified.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Thursday 37-year-old Matthew Cornett from Wilmington was killed when his semi crashed into the rear of another vehicle and burst into flames.

The crash, involving two semis and a pickup, happened just before 8 a.m. Thursday in the westbound lanes on I-70 near S.R. 41.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a semi rear-ended a mobile dental clinic vehicle, which in turn rear-ended a pickup truck. Troopers believe this crash happened at the tail end of a backup caused by a previous semi fire on I-70 westbound between S.R. 72 and US-68.
