YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio (WDTN) — The Greene County Coroner has identified the victim in Friday’s deadly house fire in Yellow Springs.

26-year-old Trevor Nared from Yellow Springs died in the fire. The coroner’s office has not released a cause of death yet.

Officials say Nared was disabled.

Assistant Fire Chief Powell says that a woman was also transported to Soin Medical Center due to smoke inhalation before being transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital.

Two dogs also died in the fire.

Authorities say there were no smoke detectors present in the home.

A witness told 2 NEWS she was driving in the neighborhood to visit a friend when she saw smoke coming from the home in the 1400 block of Glen View Road.

Scarlett Biggs from Beavercreek said they saw smoke coming from the house and stopped to help. Biggs said she ran around the house knocking on windows to alert the homeowner.

Biggs helped who she said was the homeowner out and sit down. She also said she was going to try and enter the burning home to rescue a boy the homeowner said was still inside but there was too much smoke.

According to Biggs, other bystanders also tried to help but the heat and smoke was too intense.

The Coroner arrived on the scene around 12:50 pm. Residents were evacuated from the home but is not known how many people were inside at the time of the blaze.
