Victim identified in deadly Moraine crash

MORAINE, Ohio (WDTN) — Police identified the man killed in a three-vehicle crash in Moraine Thursday night.

80-year-old Frederick Jung died in the crash. It happened around 8 p.m. Thursday in the southbound lanes of I-75 near the S.R. 741 exit.

Moraine Police tell 2 NEWS a driver of a car travelling south on I-75 was either having car trouble or a medical emergency when it was struck from behind. That collision forced the vehicle into a semi-truck.

The driver of that car, later identified as Jung, was killed in the crash.

Another person in another vehicle was injured in the crash. Authorities have not released the extent of that person’s injuries.

Police closed the southbound lanes of I-75 at Dryden Road around 8:15 pm Thursday. Those lanes remained closed for nearly 2 1/2 hours during the investigation.
