Vehicle linked to missing Springfield man found in field

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) -- A vehicle believed to belong to a missing Springfield man was found in a field Thursday morning.

The vehicle, a 2018 grey Chevy Cruze, was found in a field located between Titus Road, Benjamin Drive and Carex Avenue.

Police say it's believed to belong to 74-year-old Jack W. Dietsch, who's been missing since Monday, when he didn't show up for a doctor's appointment.

Springfield Police Detectives, Crime Scene Unit and K-9 are at the scene to search for Dietsch.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol Aviation Unit has also been requested to assist in the search.

Police say at least 25 people will take part in the search, with several local fire departments on standby to bring ATV's to the area to assist with the search.

Dietsch has been missing since 1:30 p.m. Monday.

He reportedly has Parkinson’s disease as well as early symptoms of Alzheimer’s. He is currently prescribed several medications but does not have any of them with him.

He is described as a white male, weighing 170 pounds, standing 5’10” tall with brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information on Mr. Dietsch’s whereabouts is encouraged to call the Springfield Police Division at (937) 324-7716.
