(WDTN) – The United States Air Force is celebrating its birthday Tuesday.
The USAF posted a video on Facebook Tuesday that simply said, “Today we celebrate 71 years as the world’s greatest AIRPOWER!”
The Air Force was founded on September 18, 1947, when the National Security Act was signed.
The USAF did not exist as an independent organization but World Word II proved the value of airpower.
