Two people hospitalized after crash involving car and semi in Darke County

ANSONIA, Ohio (WDTN) — Two people were taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital after a crash involving a car and a semi in Darke County.

The crash happened around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of U.S. 127 and S.R. 242 in Ansonia.

The Darke County Sheriff’s Office says a car driving east on U.S. 127 when it failed to yield the right of way from a stop sign.

A semi driving north on U.S. 127 hit the car.

The driver and passenger in the car were taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital. The driver of the semi was treated at the scene and released.

Ansonia Rescue, the Ansonia Fire Department, CareFlight, the Darke County Accident Reconstruction team and the Ohio State Highway Patrol Motor Carrier Inspector assisted the Darke County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
