TROY, Ohio (WDTN) – Troy residents living near the corner of Branford and North Road are concerned about drivers speeding through their neighborhood.
Sunday night a convertible crashed into a home off North Road.
Miami County Sheriff’s deputies told reporters on scene that the man may have been under the influence.
Our partner paper, The Troy Daily News first reported the incident.
“There have been multiple cars that have driven though our grass here,” said Michelle Mumma.
She lives near the home that was damaged.
Mumma says a utility pole was also recently hit in the area.
Branford runs parallel to I-75 with a wall between the two roadways. Branford turns into North Road without any traffic signs or indicators.
“If they could make this a stop instead of just a curve to go around, it would be great. Last night we decided this is a dangerous corner,” said Mumma.
The driver of the car was not seriously injured and even sat in the driveway. The home owner was not home at the time.
The homeowner told 2 NEWS off camera that his car was hit by a driver not long ago. He hopes that people see this story and take is slow around the corner.
As charges pend for the suspect, Mumma is thinking about her families future.
“It’s loud. People are just not very considerate going around this corner. It definitely plays a factor in it not being our forever home.”
Mumma has young children and has tried putting signs out to indicate children are playing in the area. She says it works sometimes, but not enough.
