Trotwood woman turning 100

Local News

TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN)  It’s a very happy birthday week for Willie Stevenson of Trotwood. On Tuesday she’ll celebrate her 100th birthday. On Saturday family and friends from all over the country gathered to celebrate.

Ms. Stevenson was born in Louisiana in 1919 and moved to Dayton in 1952.

When asked about her secret to living a happy and healthy 100 years, Ms. Stevenson says it’s all about the food. “Fried chicken, I love chicken and catfish. Fish on Friday and chicken on Sunday. I always bless my food before I eat”.

On Saturday the city of Trotwood also awarded Ms. Stevenson with the seal of the city for her commitment to the community.
