Trial begins for Xenia woman accused in stabbing death

XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) – The trial for a Xenia woman accused of murder began Monday in Greene County Common Pleas Court.

Our partners at the Xenia Daily Gazette report that Tova Wallace-Lee, 21, was indicted after stabbing Tre’Ana Tarver, 19, during an incident back on November 3, 2018.

Officers responded to reports of a fight in the 200 block of East Church Street around 11:15 pm where they found Tarver laying in the backyard of a residence. She had been stabbed in the chest.

She was taken to Greene Memorial Hospital, where she later died of her injuries.

Court records indicate that a motion for self-defense was filed Monday by Wallace-Lee’s attorney.

She is charged with murder and felonious assault.

Wallace-Lee is being held in the Greene County Jail on $1,000,000 bond with no 10 percent specification, per the judge’s request.
