Traffic rerouted after crews hit gas line near Miami Township restaurant

MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — Traffic is being rerouted on S.R. 725 after crews hit a gas line near a restaurant in Miami Township Monday morning.

It happened on 725-Miamisburg Centerville Road near the TGI Friday’s on Graceland Street around 10 a.m. Monday.

Miami Township officials say a construction crew was digging near the restaurant and hit the gas line, causing a leak. Police say an auger hit the line, rupturing it.

Police shut down 725 on a stretch of road near Graceland Street.

Traffic heading west was rerouted towards the mall, turning drivers to Southwind Drive.

Drivers coming the other way were being rerouted onto Kingsridge Drive.

Miami Township officials say there were no evacuations of neighboring businesses due to the leak.

Vectren was called to the scene to shut off the gas.

Miami Township officials say its unknown how long the road will be closed.
