Tornado touched down in southeast corner of Clark County

SOUTH CHARLESTON, Ohio (WDTN) – There was a tornado in South Charleston, which is in the southeast corner of Clark County Tuesday. 

Clark County Sheriff Deb Burchett spoke on FIVE on 2.

Burchett said a tornado was spotted just south of South Charleston. Children were stuck in school but the Sheriff said there were no injuries and everyone was safe.

2 NEWS spoke with Miami Bell schools who said the students have been released to their parents and there was no damage to the school.

Burchett said her deputies are dealing with a collapsed basement but she did not know what caused that incident. She also said there were trees down in the county and there was a great deal of flooding on county roads.
