TIPP CITY, Ohio (WDTN) – Tipp City is rallying around one of their favorite students as she tries to launch a small business.

PAWsitively By Lilly is a brand drawn from a passion for fashion and a love for dogs. Lilly Durig makes bandana’s for furry friends, along with tug toys.

Lilly got the inspiration after Tippacanoe High School revamped their elective options last year.

Wright State University partnered with Tipp to help bring more options to students.

“She likes to pick out the fabrics so we kind of help her out with that. My parents are helping with sewing a little bit. We are still working on that,” said Anna Durig, Lilly’s sister.

Anna Durig will tell you this business is a family affair. They are determined to support Lilly, giving her every opportunity to live her best life.

“Something we are really big on is inclusion. Especially in school. The fact that she has had inclusion classes and we have such great team of teachers working with her. It’s been a testament to that. Inclusion works and it can be a great thing,” said Anna Durig.

Lilly will take more fashion-related classes soon. However, she has already started production and shipping. Click here for here Etsy shop.

Her teachers believe Lilly’s story is not only inspiring her classmates, but maybe society at large.

“I think it’s that can do spirit. Don’t ever sell anyone short. Lilly sets an example for all of our students. To take skills they are learning in school and make it a benefit to them outside of the classroom,” said Lisa Colebaugh a Family Science teacher at Tippacanoe.
