DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – This is projected to be the busiest week of the year for the U.S. Postal Service.

The agency says it will process and deliver nearly three billion pieces of mail and packages this week and the total between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day is 15 billion.

The Postal Service is expanding Sunday delivery in select cities to keep up with the high demand.

Mail carriers will also deliver priority mail express packages on Christmas day in select locations.
