Thieves rip door off Dayton convenience store, steal ATM

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Police are investigating an ATM theft in Dayton.

A police report shows officers responded to a breaking and entering call at the Citizen Mart on Germantown Pike near Liscum Drive around 5 am Tuesday.

When officers arrived, they found the front door of the business ripped off, and part of an ATM machine sitting in the doorway.

Witnesses tell police they saw a black Dodge Ram truck leaving the scene and heading south on Germantown Pike.

Authorities have not released information about what was taken.

Within the last few months, there have been five ATM thefts in Dayton.

“I’m not in a good mood. When you wake up in the middle of the night with his happening. It’s not normal,” said Ehab al- Bzour, the owner of Citizen Mart. 

al-Bzour has a message for the suspects responsible.  

“I would tell them to go find a job. The time you spent to break into 4 stores, you could have found a job. Make a living. What are you teaching the kids?” said al-Bzour.

Anyone with information is asked to call Dayton Police or Crimestoppers at 222-STOP (7867).
