Ten pounds of Fentanyl seized during investigation

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Authorities with the Miami Valley Bulk Smuggling Task Force and RANGE Task Force recently seized ten pounds of Fentanyl, resulting in the arrest of two individuals.

The amount of Fentanyl that was confiscated is worth an estimated $500,000 on the street.

Authorities believe the drug was brought to Ohio from Mexico using a commercial motor vehicle.

Montgomery County Sheriff Phil Plummer said, “This is another example of the ongoing battle against drug cartels bringing in illegal drugs into our communities. We recognize collaboration through federal, state, and local partnerships are necessary to have a significant impact on the criminal organizations in Montgomery County and the Miami Valley.”

Sheriff Plummer, along with Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, and U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent in Charge Steve Francis, announced the Fentanyl seizure Tuesday.
