DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — One teen was injured and three others fled after a crash in Dayton early Monday morning.
The crash happened around 4 a.m. Monday on N. Gettysburg Avenue near Kammer Avenue.
According to a police report, someone called 911 saying a car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it crashed into the old sign for the Kroger on N. Gettysburg Avenue. The caller later told authorities the car was going so fast, it shook her house as it drove past.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they found one teenage male injured. The teen suffered a broken leg, according to the police report. Medics transported the teen to Dayton Children’s Hospital.
Authorities say the white car, identified as a Kia, was badly damaged, with all airbags deployed.
According to the police report, authorities ran the tags of the car and learned it had been stolen out of Trotwood.
The 911 caller told authorities three teenage males from the vehicle that crashed got into a dark colored SUV and left the scene.
According to the police report, the mother of the teen who was injured in the crash told Trotwood Police he had run away from home nearly a month ago.
Authorities later learned the vehicle that crashed had possible ties to several break-ins across the Miami Valley, including Sugarcreek Township and Beavercreek.
