A teen driver is hurt after crashing into a tree in Shelby County.
The accident happened just at 5:11 a.m Saturday in the 5000 block of State Route 66.
According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, 17-year-old Benjamin Couchot was traveling north on S.R.66 when he went off the road, over-corrected and lost control. Couchot then slid back off the road and struck a tree.
He was taken by Careflight to a local hospital for treatment. No word on his condition.
The crash is under investigation.
