Teen found dead on train tracks in Carlisle identified as missing runaway

CARLISLE, Ohio (WDTN) – A teen girl was found dead on railroad tracks in Carlisle Tuesday morning.

The Carlisle Police Chief, Mike Bruck, tells 2 NEWS officers received a call from a CSX Railroad employee around 8:30 Monday morning reporting a dead person on the train tracks.

WLWT reports that the person has been identified as 16-year-old Jamie Anderson, who was reported as a missing runaway to the Sheriff’s Office Tuesday morning.

Police also added that there is no indication the girl’s death was a suicide.

The girl’s body was found near Bobby Place which is not near a crossing. Bruck said., “kids use those tracks as a shortcut.” No bike or car was found near the area.

Bruck also told 2 NEWS the girl was “severely injured.”

The Warren County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene as well to investigate.
