DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Three people have been taken into police custody after a portion of Kammer Avenue was blocked off by heavy police presence Wednesday morning.

A Dayton police officer on the scene said that officers had been looking for a stolen vehicle when they received news it had been spotted on Anna St. Officers located the vehicle around 3 am and found three juvenile suspects inside the residence.

The police attempted to get the suspects to come out for several hours before calling SWAT and HNT around 7 am. SWAT successfully used a sound device to convince the suspects to come out of the home, onto the porch to communicate. The suspects were then taken into custody. There were also three adults inside the home who are now cooperating with the police investigation.

No one was injured in the standoff.

The suspects are facing preliminary charges of aggravated robbery. Detectives are investigating both the robbery as well as the events of the standoff to consider other charges.
