Suspect nearly hits officer with car, eludes police

RIVERSIDE, Ohio (WDTN) – Police in Riverside are asking for help finding a suspect who ran from police after nearly hitting an officer with his car.

Officers were called to an address on North Garden Road off Springfield Street around 6:30 am Saturday.

When police arrived they found 25-year-old Donald Brake and an unidentified woman inside a car. As an officer approached the car, police say Brake backed his car away from the officer. The officer ordered Brake to stop.

Minutes later as more officers approached the car Brake drove toward the officer at a high rate a speed, nearly hitting him forcing the officer to jump out of the way,

A brief chase ensued but Brake was not caught.

Police say Donald Brake, 25, is wanted on a felony warrant for failure to comply with the order of a police officer, or fleeing, and obstructing official business.

Brake was driving a dark green 2000 Honda Accord.

Brake also has an outstanding felony warrant from Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.

Police ask that anyone who knows where Brake can be found call the Riverside Police Department at 937-233-2080.
