Suspect in deadly Springfield shooting pleads not guilty

Local News

A man charged for shooting his pregnant girlfriend who later died at the hospital has pleaded not guilty.

Travis Hypes, 25, was arraigned at the Clark County courthouse Monday morning. He remains behind bars at the Clark County Jail, being held on $750,000 bond.

Hypes has pleaded not guilty to a felonious assault charge.

Meanwhile, loved ones have set up a memorial of photos, balloons and candles outside the Springfield home where the shooting happened. They’re paying tribute to 23-year-old Lindsey Marsh, who died Saturday at the hospital.

According to officials, police were called to a home on East McCreight Avenue Thursday night. That’s where they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the head.

According to a police report, Hypes told authorities that the gun went off as he and his girlfriend were shoving each other.

Officials say Marsh was about 30 weeks pregnant, but doctors were able to deliver her baby.
