Suspect in custody in Franklin shooting

FRANKLIN, Ohio (WDTN) – A man is in custody in connection with a shooting in Franklin.

Franklin Police arrested 39-year-old Jesse James on February 20th.

Authorities were searching for James after a shooting at Franklin Commons Apartment Complex on February 18th.

Officers found 40-year-old Timothy Lazier with a gunshot wound to the head. Police believe Lazier was shot with a .22 caliber handgun. Police have not released Lazier’s condition.

According to police, witnesses at the scene did not cooperate with the investigation.

After investigating, officers identified James as the primary suspect in the shooting.

On February 20th, officers went to the 600 block of Spring Avenue, near Chestnut Street, around 9 p.m. on a report of an assautl involvig James.

Police say James fled the scene.

Authorities from several agencies in Warren County set up a perimeter to search for James.

He was found and arrested on a Felonious Assault charge. James is beingheld in the Arren County jail on $100,000 bond.
