‘St. Anne the Tart’ bakery to open doors Friday

Local News

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – St. Anne the Tart bakery will open their doors for the first time bright and early Friday morning at 7 a.m.

Besides providing tasty coffee beverages and baked goods, owner Megan Smith is hoping to give time and money to “Tart with Heart,” a non-profit set up through The Dayton Foundation.

The bakery can be found at 1500 E. Fifth St., the site of a former violin shop.

“We talk a lot with people that are working with the food banks and things about children that have literally never had a birthday cake here in Dayton, so that’s something that’s very simple for us, to have our baker be able to go in a bake a beautiful birthday cake for a kid. We would also be doing charitable monetary give-back as well,” she says.

Smith previously owned a bake shop in Lexington that was featured in Southern Living.
