SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – The Springfield woman who was shot in the head has died in hospital, according to an official at Miami Valley Hospital.
The hospital confirmed Lindsey Marsh’s death on Saturday – after Springfield police told reporters, on Friday, Marsh had died.
A friend of the family told 2 NEWS: Lindsey Marsh has been on life support since the shooting on Thursday.
Hospital officials confirmed, Friday night, Marsh was still a patient at Miami Valley Hospital.
Springfield police say the shooting happened on East McCreight Avenue near North Fountain Boulevard just before 8 p.m. Thursday.
According to a police report on the incident, When officers arrived they found Lindsey Marsh in the kitchen with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
Police released a call to 911 Friday. In that call, you can hear a woman tell police her husband’s cousin came to her home and told them he had “just shot his baby’s mom.”
Marsh was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center, then transferred by Careflight to Miami Valley Hospital.
Springfield Police arrested 25-year-old Travis Ray Hypes after he was seen standing on a porch in the 500 block of E. Cecil Street.
He’s charged with felonious assault. Hypes is being held in the Clark County Jail.
The shooting remains under investigation.
