VANDALIA, Ohio (WDTN) – Two southbound lanes of I-75 have reopened after two crashes involving at least six vehicles Wednesday morning.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a two-vehicle crash triggered a larger crash on I-75 southbound between National Road and the I-70/I-75 interchange.
The crashes happened just before 9 a.m. Wednesday.
OSP says two vehicles were involved in the first crash. When vehicles swerved to avoid that accident, another crash happened with at least four vehicles involved. One of those vehicles ended up on its top.
OSP says several people were hurt in the crashes. Two people were taken to a local hospital with reported non-life threatening injuries.
All lanes of I-75 southbound were shut down when the crashes happened. Two lanes have since reopened, with the far right lane still closed.
OSP is continuing to investigate both crashes.
