Sinclair hosts cyber security showcase at Centerville campus

CENTERVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) – Sinclair Community College hosted their cyber security showcase Wednesday at their Centerville campus.

Students got the chance to learn about the latest technology while showcasing their work to the NSA, Homeland Security, and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

The gave everyone attending the tools and tips they need to better protect themselves from hackers while preparing themselves for the workforce.

“Cyber Security is a really hot field for people to go into, a lot of high wages, large job demand, so we have people even in the high school level starting on tracks either through a program called tech prep, or college credit plus, and they’re continuing on with their education,” says Sinclair Centerville Executive Director Laura Mercer.

Experts found a computer is hacked every 39 seconds in the United States.
