Sinclair holds annual ‘Battle of the Badges’ blood drive

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Sinclair Community College held its annual “Battle of the Badges” on Wednesday.

It is a challenge between fire and law enforcement students.

Everyone who registered to donate blood received a token to vote for either the fire or law enforcement program.

Organizers say they often see more people during natural disasters.

Ebony Adomanis of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society says, “So far for this one there has been a little bit of an uptick, but Florence happened so close to when this was going on that people didn’t necessarily make appointments, but we have walk-in openings.”

The winning department this year were the firefighters, who will receive a trophy made of out-of-service training parts.

The school’s next blood drive is in November.
