Several medics called to Dayton crash

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Several medics were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash in Dayton.

The crash happened just after 8 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Philadelphia Drive and Cornell Drive. Authorities say an SUV and a car were involved in the crash.

The impact of the crash caused one of the vehicles to carom off, ending up against a pole.

One of the vehicles caught on fire after the crash.

Authorities say someone was trapped inside one of the vehicles. Crews were able to remove that person from the vehicle.

There’s no word on injuries related to the crash.

Authorities shut down Cornell Drive for one block, diverting traffic into the College Hill Community Church parking lot to get by. The northbound lane of Philadelphia Drive was also blocked at Cornell Drive due to the crash.

The intersection is was reopened just before 9 am.

The cause is under investigation.
