DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A security guard facing charges for a deadly shooting at Ashwood Lounge earlier in November was arraigned in court Tuesday.

49-year-old Steven Coleman, of Dayton, faces charges including:

  • Three counts of murder
  • Two counts of felonious assault
  • One count of tampering with evidence
  • One count of discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises
  • Two counts of having weapons while under disability from a prior drug conviction

Prosecutors say Coleman was working at the Ashwood Lounge when he punched 29-year-old Robert Lee Burdette in the head, pulled out a gun and shot him in the head.

It happened when Coleman tried to intervene in a fight between Burdette and another security guard.

He is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a $1,000,000 bond.
