Security gate pried open, window smashed in Metro PCS break-in

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Police were called to another wireless store break-in Monday morning.

Officers were called to the Metro PCS store in the 2400 block of N. Gettysburg Avenue around 5 am Monday.

Someone reported to police that five kids in two vehicles were breaking into the store, According to a police report on the incident.

The report states the caller told dispatcher “they are breaking the window right now.”

When officers arrived the cars and the suspects were gone.  Police found a security gate had been pried open and a broken window at the store and went inside.

According to the police report, officers found an open cash register drawer with only change inside and damaged display cases that once held mobile phones.

No one was found inside the store or in the area.  Officers had to remain on the scene because no one from the business could be reached.

No arrests were made and the case is still under investigation.
