VANDALIA, Ohio (WDTN) – South Dixie Drive has re-opened in both directions after a car crashed into a pole late Wednesday morning.

The accident happened around 11 am on South Dixie Drive between Elva Court and Scott Drive.

Officials say a car crashed into a utility pole and wires were down in the area, but Dayton Power & Light has fixed the situation.

At least one person was injured in the crash.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and find an alternate route. From the north, the recommended route is to go west on National Road, south on Helke Road and east on Stonequarry Road to Dixie Drive and opposite for drivers coming from the south.

The crash is still under investigation.
