DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Another arrest has been made in connection with a January robbery that saw a Cricket Wireless employee tied up.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday Brian Burnett, 46, was arrested Monday after having been on the run for several weeks.
Deputies say Burnett was wanted in connection with a January 23 robbery at the Cricket Wireless on Siebenthaler Avenue in Harrison Township.
“Thanks to a helpful tip from a citizen, our team was able to locate Burnett and bring him into custody. We are always grateful for the public’s help and encourage citizens to come forward if they ever have any tips that might help keep our community safe,” said Sheriff Rob Streck.
On January 23, according to investigators, two people went into the store and tied up an employee inside. The thieves then stole most of the cell phones in the building and fled through a rear door.
Deputies said one of the suspects wielded a knife and the other showed the victim a gun.
The employee managed to free himself and run for help.
The vehicle investigators say was involved in the crime was found the next day in Harrison Township and an arrest was made. 29-year-old Henry Harris was arrested at the scene for obstructing official business and resisting arrest.
Brian Burnett has been charged and booked at the Montgomery County Jail on aggravated robbery and kidnapping.
