Riverside officials discuss police renewal levy

Local News

RIVERSIDE, Ohio (WDTN) – Riverside city leaders held an informational meeting Tuesday night regarding current and future projects. They also made a plea to citizens to pass their renewal levy to fund their police department.

The levy is just under 5 mils and will generate just over $1 million, and because it is a renewal levy, it will not raise taxes.

“This makes up 28 percent of the police department’s budget. If it’s not renewed, we have to cut $1.1 million out of, not just the police, but the city budget,” says Riverside City Manager Mark Carpenter.
