RIVERSIDE, Ohio (WDTN) – A Dayton-area medical marijuana dispensary has set a soft opening date.
An official with Mad River Remedies, located at 5604 Airway Road, tells 2 NEWS, the business has decided to “open softly to all registered and interested patients and caregivers” Thursday, May 30th.
It will open up at 9 a.m. with a full product set.
The business says it will also have a grand opening in the next couple of weeks “to celebrate the tremendous impact we hope to have on the communities we serve.”
The dispensary got the green light Wednesday, May 22 from the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
Mad River Remedies is the first in the Miami Valley to be awarded a Dispensary Certificate of Operation.
When it opens, it will join About Wellness Ohio in Lebanon as the only two medical marijuana dispensaries open in southwest Ohio.
In Springfield, Pure Ohio Wellness also tells us they are planning on having inspections with the state this week and may be opening up as early as next week.
Pure Ohio Wellness will have a dispensary on Needmore Road in Dayton as well, but says that location is requiring quite a bit more work.
2 NEWS reached out to the other four parent companies who received provisional licenses to open dispensaries in the Miami Valley.
A representative for the Beavercreek Harvest House of Cannabis said they plan to open late summer, pending approval.
