8-15 Dayton Red Cross to LA_183124

The Red Cross is helping people in Urbana who were forced out of their homes from the severe weather Tuesday.

The shelter was set up at the Renewed Strength Church in Urbana at 1:00 a.m. Wednesday and officials say 10 units of a small apartment building on 941 State Route 29 left people without a place to stay due to the heavy rain and flooding.

The Red Cross tells 2 NEWS the shelter in Urbana will stay open until law enforcement officials tell them it is safe for local residents to return to their homes.
