Red Cross helping people displaced by Harrison Township house fire

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — The American Red Cross is helping people displaced by a fire in Harrison Township.

Fire crews responded to a home on Otis Drive, near Beatty Drive, around 6:40 a.m. Thursday.

A man called 911 reporting his house was on fire, with flames visible on the ceiling.

Everyone inside the home got out safely.

Fire crews arrived and had the fire contained within 30 minutes.

There’s no word on the estimate of damages caused by the fire, but the people living there were receiving help from the American Red Cross for a new place to stay.

DP&L was called to the scene to check on the electricity running to the home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
