Pup finds forever home after spending 525 days at the Humane Society

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A dog who has spent over 500 days with the Humane Society of Greater Dayton has finally found her forever home.

Cassie first came to the shelter on August 9, 2017. She was adopted a few times but was returned each time, helping shelter staff to learn more about her personality.

Officials with the shelter posted about the happy affair on Facebook, saying, “Every day for 525 days she has patiently waited for that perfect person to walk through the doors and pick her and today was her day! Our staff may have shed a few tears saying goodbye and there may have been a few squeals of excitement, but we are so very happy for Cassie and her new family!”

The Humane Society says Cassie’s TV stardom also helped get her adopted. She stars in a handful of ads with Jeff Schmidt Auto Group as part of a campaign that allows drivers to test drive a car at any of their seven dealerships while giving back to the shelter.
