DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office wishes to help residents who have lost someone to violence get through the holiday season with a memorial service.

The 28th Annual Homicide Victim Memorial Service will be held Monday, December 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church.

There will be a service including a presentation of ornaments to a special memorial tree, followed by a balloon launch, weather permitting.

Many balloons will carry cards with personal or inspirational messages from survivors to those who have died.

Over the years, the service has grown from a small group to an event with over 500 people in attendance.

For more information about the service, call Sandra Hunt, Director of the Victim/Witness Division at (937) 225-5623.
