Police to crack down on seat belt use during Click It or Ticket campaign

Local News

BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) – The Greene County Safe Community Coalition along with AAA are beginning their annual Click It or Ticket campaign.

From Memorial Day through June 2, troopers will be looking for impaired drivers as well as seat belt violations in a concentrated effort to keep Ohio roadways safe.

“Your propensity for getting injured or killed is a lot higher when you don’t have a seatbelt on, so you need to have it on and wear it,” says Sgt. John Chesser of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

More than 1,800 people died in Ohio last year because they were not wearing a seat belt.
